Assuming you are from Britain (not halfway across the world away), it would make sense to eat locally produced products. The reasons can be economical (money stays in the country; food doesn't have to be imported; local farmers can prosper), environmental (food does not have to be imported via plane / boat / train; less emissions used in transport). Against it would be things like availability of all products (is everything available all year), economical (less exports?)

How to use the verb debate in a sentence?

From my understanding when you use debate as a verb it acts on the subject that will be debated, not the person who you are engaging in conversation with. For example if someone says "Linda is going to debate Bob" the actually meaning is that Linda's subject matter for her debate is Bob. People mistakenly use a sentence like that to mean Linda is going to debate an issue against her opponent Bob.
