For safety precautions trailing power leads should be individually capped off. This can be done using a plastic tape designed especially for electrical wires or a permanent plastic cap.
The main ground should not have a splice to ensure continuity of the ground. The reality is that this is done in some cases. If the splice should loosen or be intermittent you will create a shock hazard.
you should take care to ensure that the circuit components being analysed are isolated from the power supply. only carry these test out if you are completely confidnet that your safety is guarranteed from a possable electric shock. you should also take care to ensure that the electrical contact restistance across your fingers and hand do not give a false reading where they would allow a leakage of small electrical current thruogh your fingers if you choose to hold your measuring probes of the meter onto the restance - component with your fingers directly. although this isnt reccomended . you should use approved equipment designed to connect to any terminals or components safely ; crocdile clips .
First. You should not attempt this unless you are an electrician and KNOW what you are doing. Second: Ensure transformer is rated for 480 primary and 120/240 secondary. Third: See step One... But if you insist on doing it yourself, make sure your insurance is paid up.... On the Primary side of the transformer will be leads marked H1 H2 H3 etc. On the Secondary side the leads will be marked X1 X2 X3 etc. Look on the nameplate data on the transformer. It should tell you if it is rated for 480volts and should have a wiring diagram on it... If it does not, get one that does to ENSURE that you have the correct transformer.... Every electrical system should be earthed to get a low resistance path for dissipation of current into the earth. Major accidents take place because of improper equipment earthing or leakage current. Earth fault current directly affect the human safety. Earthing should be measured at regular intervals so as to ensure that the resistance of the earth is maintained minimum. Its main purpose is to minimize the risks of fire and shock hazards.
You need to have steady guidelines for everyone. You can do routine tests and inspections to ensure that everyone is following the correct rules.
so everyone will like it and be comfortable being there.
