If you want to be environmentally and financially responsible they should be used. Cheaper and less waste in the long run.

But some single-use batteries can have both a higher voltage and a bigger capacity than rechargeable batteries, which might give longer runtime and higher top speed than with rechargeables.

Wii remote will not turn on?

I have (or soon will have had) that same problem. What my remote is doing is, with the rechargeable batteries, it won't turn on. but whenever I put in regular batteries, it works just fine. Here is what i suggest doing: Turn the console power off, using the power button, then unplug it. then in a few seconds, plug it back in. Turn the power of the WII console on and stay at the health and safety info screen. Don't press anything! Then with your first WII remote that you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on the back and press the sync button. (if using a rechargeable, there is a little button on the cover that you can push in with a tack). After you press it, the blue lights will blink, all of them. Then quickly press and release the red button on the inside flap in the front of the wii console labeled SYNC. (near the SD card slot.) After you do this, the wii remote should stop blinking and one light should stay lit indicating the player number.Do this for all of your wii remotes. If your wii remote is like mine, (the rechargeable battery won't work, but the regular kind will,) then put the regular kind in, and do the process.
