The way the question is worded might lead one to believe that children are the woman's alone. They may or may not be. Certainly the child had a father, but that's Biology. As to actual parenting, what's wrong with the idea that the couple make the decision as to who stays home with the kids (if anyone at all)? To accommodate the different relationships we are seeing in this day and age, whatever the parents (whatever mix of genders they may be) decide together is far more important that just the assigning of domestic responsibility for the children to the woman by some kind of default.

Women have raised children throughout history. This was done in the past because of some notion of the man as the hunter who is away hunting that evolved into a patriarchal world view where men dominated the public sphere. It continued through tradition, or any other standard which might be called into play. And it's easy to see why. But there are different options available today that can facilitate new arrangements for bringing up children. There is a "smoking gun" that is on point to the issue - lots of couples (who are parents) today are both working full time.

It is far an away more important that the parents are fully involved in the rearing of the children, each according to their ability, skills and the agreements between the parents. Some yokes are equal, some are not. But what is best for the child under the circumstances should weigh heaviest in decisions where there are so many trade offs like there are in contemporary society.

There was at one point the submission of the idea that it takes a village to raise a child. George Carlin, a thinking critic of society, said that's nonsense. He offered that it takes two caring, involved parents. The late Mr. Carlin is not incorrect. In fact, he has hit the nail on the head.

It should be their choice.

Just in case like house, children,or family emergencies

The only reason a woman should stay home is if she chooses to. Otherwise the man can stay home if he likes it. The children (if you have those at home) find it just as great wioth either parent. Many women prefers working as do men. For emergencies we have phones. They work wonders.

#1, that is a matter of personal opinion. #2, women deserve the same rights, and privilege and responsibilities as men.

P.S. someone please correct my spelling if you get the chance.

I believe a woman should only stay in the house if she chooses and shouldn't be forced to stay there by anyone. However, you are still entitled to your opinion.

Well, that would be boring! Do something in your community, get a job, paint, anything! Everyone should be doing something.
