It is important to remove nail enamel before working woth food becaus it can chip of and get into the food. Nail enamel contains a toxic chemical called toluine. It is also not recommended for small children to wear nail polish because they put their hands in their mouth.

Because long nails are a safety issue. They harbour bacteria. They get caught on things. They make tasks difficult. They get all sorts of food stuff stuck underneath them. ESPECIALLY IN PASTRY!
