"In the eyes of the law, a person at 16 is an adult - they can marry, raise children, work, pay taxes and even go to war, but cannot have their say at the ballot box. This is clearly wrong.

I believe that 16 years old should be allowed to vote as it gets them more involved in politics. One way would be to allow younger people the vote, as it would encourage them to investigate further into how it all works. Some may not be interested at all, that’s fine. But should we really obstruct the opportunities for those interested in learning more? I think it is important for young people to be interested in politics as will affect them hugely at some point in their lives, therefore we should offer 16 year old and over the vote. The 16 year old are mature enough to make the right decisions and vote for the right leader. It will further increase the voter turnout. And the main question is that is the 16 year old have the rights to marriage, driver's licence or even move out., then why can't they be trusted to the right to vote?

No. We trust the parents to make the best decisions for their families. There are also other ways for minors to have a say such as having a protest. By allowing 16 year olds to vote, they may vote for someone who will allow the use of an illegal drug or make a bad drug cheaper.

Once you become a Australian citizen then alone will you be allowed to vote. If you have a P.R. Permienent Residence will not allow you to vote , as you do not have an Australian passport yet.
