Why shouldn't cell phone be allowed in schools?

Altough this is a very controverse topic, some people think that it shouldn't be allowed for students to bring cellphones into the school, because it disrupts the learning process.

Most students use cell phones irresponsibly. They use cell phones to talk to their friend during class time. They also use their cell phone to text message or pass on answers to tests, homework, and other class information. Students also use the calculator and camera features in the class, which is another distraction factor.
In addition to disrupting the learning process, the signals from the cell phones can interfere with the school emergency response system. Many schools are banning cellphones because of this issue.

Besides all the 'thinking' it is a fact that cellphones can cause a distraction in education. They can disturb teachers and students. For example, if you were working hard on a piece of work, concentrating hard, and a person's phone rings, it disrupts the whole class. You may become side-tracked or the teacher may be interrupted while speaking to the class.

1 - Because students can use them to cheat on tests in texting, recordings and photo's.

2 - Cell phones easily distract students from classes. They focus more on their cell phones than they do school. Should students know each others number, they will be texting each other all day thus putting it where more and more students wont be paying attention.

3 - If its in grade school, then parents will learn that their students aren't learning anything because they are paying attention to phones instead of classes. Issues will have a possibility of coming up between parent and teacher.

4 - If parents know that they aren't learning anything, there's a possibility that they will remove their child from the school. This will make the child's need for education difficult plus the school will lose students thus taking away a good amount of money. They lose not just students but their payment is reduced.

5 - If the school loses more and more students as cell phones are added, they will eventually not have enough to even be able to be open. Thus, in later years, the school will go down unless they get more students as they lose students, which wont be easy.

Phones can be very disruptive in school. If it starts ringing it distracts you and the people around you. Also, if you are texting, then you are not paying attention to the teacher. Phones can also be used to text others for answers on tests, which is cheating.

I am not sure that I would prohibit kids from having phones in school, since they may need to phone their parents under some circumstances, however, it is true that phones are a distraction from the education that kids are supposed to receive in school. If kids are using their phones in class, they are necessarily not paying attention to what the teacher is trying to tell them. Kids who do that may not learn what society wants them to learn.
