Today in the Park - 2011 When Mom Needs Help with the Kids Homework 2-4 was released on: USA: 15 April 2012
Too much homework for kids is very bad. Pre-schoolers, Kindergartan, and the first half of first grade need to be homework-free. after 1-1 1 half hour is maximum, kids start to get too stressed. Second half of first grade should get 5-10 minutes. Second grade should get 10-15 minutes. Grade 3=15-20 minutes. Grade 4=20-25 minutes. Grade 5=25-30 minutes. Grade 6=30-35 minutes. Grade 7=35-40 minutes. Grade 8=40-45. Grade 9=45-50 minutes. Grade 10=50-55 minutes. Grade 11=55 minutes-1 hour. Grade 12=1 hour-1 hour 5 minutes. And Collage is 1 hour 5 minutes to an hour 10 minutes. Some may think its too little, but you'll be satisfied. Trust Me!!
Can you accomplish your homework in about 15 to 20 minutes?
He has 2 hours and 25 minutes to do his homework. But maybe he will need to pack and get all his clothes and everything ready for the sleepover which will take about 15 minutes. So maybe about 2 hours and 10 minutes. But unles he has really really hard homework then he won't need all that time so I think he has plenty of time! But next time work these type of things out for yourself cause it was quite simple!

There is no correct answer to this question, since the benefits and drawbacks of homework continue to be debated even by researchers and credentialed experts in the field of education along with students, teachers and parents. It should be recognized that any further responses to this question are opinions. -- My opinion is that children under six are too immature to be responsible for homework on a regular basis, but that it could be beneficial for them to be responsbile for an occasional home project with parental assistance. No, kids under the age of 15 should not get homework because at this age they are too busy doing other stuff. High school kids get far too many assignments and it should be reduced to only no assignments! The issue of homework is partly a matter of fashion. In the 1950s in Britain it was very rare to give any homework to kids under age 10+ but the schoolday was longer. It often lasted from 9am-4.30pm.
Set a timer. Give yourself 15 minutes to work, then take 5 minutes and go do something else like exercise or get a snack. The little breaks keep your mind fresh and working up to speed. The timer keeps you from rushing or dawdling. Once your work is done, take another 15 minutes to check over it to make sure you didn't rush too fast and miss something.
1 hour = 60 minutes. 15 hours = (15 x 60) = 900minutesThere are: 15 times 60 = 900 minutes
135 minutes=2 hours and 15 minutes.
There are 60 minutes in an hour. In 1 hour and 15 minutes, you have 60 minutes from the hour plus 15 minutes, which totals 75 minutes.
