Using a cell phone while driving is a distraction. Even a simple conversation divides your attention. This means you will be less likely to respont to a hazard in time to avoid a crash. Other tasks such as texting, which require you to take your eyes off the road, are even worse as you cannot sea, for example, if someone has stopped in front of you.

It's excessively dangerous. Driving a car requires all your attention all the time. When you're driving 60mph, you're in control of a lethal weapon that's traveling 88 feet every second. When your attention is not on the road, anything can happen and you won't be able to respond because you're focused on your messaging. TOTALLY BAD NEWS! Search YouTube for some videos of people who have lost someone because of texting. Very sad!

∙ 14y agoNo matter how good someone is or says they are with a cell phone there is no way to pay full attention to the road while talking or texting on a cell phone. If you value your life and the lives of others just wait until you get to your destination to answer those messages.
