Using a cell phone while driving is a distraction. Even a simple conversation divides your attention. This means you will be less likely to respont to a hazard in time to avoid a crash. Other tasks such as texting, which require you to take your eyes off the road, are even worse as you cannot sea, for example, if someone has stopped in front of you.

When your attention is not on the road, anything can happen and you won't be able to respond because you're focused on your messaging. TOTALLY BAD NEWS! Search YouTube for some videos of people who have lost someone because of texting. Very sad!
