Space. Speed - if the boot drive is slow and you have an alternate drive that is faster (don't want to reload windows) - a faster paging file will increase speed of Windows when you have a lot of applications running.

if you have a dual core CPU, you can enable the MTGS and dual core mode in pcsx2 CPU setting. That will drastically increase the speed :) I have 2.5GHz dual core and 8500GT gfx card; with MTGS&dual core mode, I can run final fantasy X at 45~60 frames throughout. Don't forget to close any unwanted windows and apps. Turn off some services and startup items in msconfig, end unwanted processes in task manager ;)
How can you get Ubuntu Linux to load quickly?
Well theres a really common issue that involves a black screen on boot for 3 minutes, and that can be solved by editing some random configuration file and changing the x and y resolutions of your boot screen. If you just mean in general it boots kinda slow, well that's a running problem, and might be improved by some more RAM. Ubuntu boot has been slow for a couple years now and im told its being worked on. If you don't feel like doing much sit tight a couple more years i guess. Hope that helps a little.
