Bricks should be dry before use. The wall gains strength when the mortar penetrates the pores in brick and block construction. This is the reason that blocks in an engineered block wall cannot be reused once installed.

English bond refers to a type of brickwork bond used in the construction of (usually) load-bearing walls. Brick homes commonly built in the US today use a type of brickwork called a stretcher bond. Basically, a stretcher bond is a single row of bricks (about 4" thick - called a half-wythe) laid longwise end-to-end (stretchers). This type of construction is really just a brick veneer which is supported by load-bearing wall elements behind it - such as 2x4 wood frame construction, "cinder block", or a poured concrete wall. A brick wall employing a English bond, on the other hand, is a full wythe thick (about 8" - the length of a standard brick). It's made by alternately laying a row of two bricks "longwise" side-by-side (stretchers) and then a row of bricks "crosswise" (headers). The joints are staggered so that the header bricks (and mortar) lock in the stetcher bricks in the rows above and below them and, likewise, the stretcher bricks (and mortar) lock in the header bricks in the rows above and below them.

Inca roads were also well-designed and maintained, connecting their vast empire and allowing for efficient communication and transportation across rugged terrain. These feats of engineering demonstrate the ingenuity and organization of the Inca civilization.
21,283..............so far as of 5/24/10 Although there are billions of Lego bricks that have been made already. According to the Lego book, each person could get 62 bricks. Everyone in the world!
648 Because: There are 12 inches in 1 foot. So 1ft wide is 3 bricks (12/4=3) and 1 ft long is 1.5 bricks (12/8 = 1.5). So 6ft x 3 = 18 bricks, 24ft x 1.5 = 36 bricks. To get the area: 36 bricks x 18 bricks = 648 Bricks.
It's like architecture, when you build a house you use hundreds of bricks but it's required all bricks must be same size. If the bricks is different sized then it'll be so hard to build what exactly we want.
