i think its basic and reaction vl lead to formation of carbonic acid and sodium hydroxide

but not confirmed

Na2CO3 (sodium carbonate) + H2O => Na2O + H2CO3 (carbonic acid) => H2O +CO2 + 2NaOH

Keep in mind that this reaction does not go all the way to completion, but that it is still a fairly strong base. The reaction of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is similar, but goes to completion even less, making it a weaker base.

Try heating baking soda on the stove to produce carbon dioxide and sodium carbonate.

basic

Can you use sodium chloride or sodium carbonate in gargle?

Sodium chloride - yes.Sodium carbonate, NO, this is a cleaning product, basic and will damage the inside of the mouth and throat.

Is sodium carbonate solution acidic or basic and what is the net chemical equation to represent the reaction of sodium carbonate and hydrochloric acid and what gas is involved?

Sodium carbonate solution is basic in nature after acid hydrolysis of polysaccharide sodium carbonate is added in test tube to neutralize acidic effect and to rise the ph value with the evolvement of carbondioxide gas the reaction between sodium carbonate and hcl gives rise to sodium bicarbonate and sodium chloride sodium bi carbonate is then reacted with hcl to form sodium chloride ,water and carbon dioxide

Is sodium hydrogen carbonate a fat or oil?

No. It is a basic salt.

Which Basic salt present in washing powder?

sodium carbonate

Why is Sodium carbonate regarded as a basic salt?

Because one dissolve in sodium carbonate Na2CO3 will dissosiate into 2Na+ and HCO3-. the Na+ will not affect the PH.

What type of substance is sodium carbonate?

Sodium carbonate is a white powder. It is baking powder and soda. It is soluble in water and and a little soluble in alcohol. It is a sodium salt of carbonic acid. It is an organic compound - it contains carbon.

Why sodium carbonate solution is alkaline in nature?

Sodium carbonate solution is alkaline because of the carbonate ion. Sodium ions do not change the pH. However, carbonate, being the conjugate base of a weak acid (carbonic acid/hydrogen carbonate) does affect the pH. The carbonate ions can abstract a proton to form hydrogen carbonate, HCO3-. When the proton is abstracted from water, hydroxide ions form which results in a higher pH (more basic).

What is the name of this compound NaCO3 x 10H2O?

Sodium carbonate x water --> sodium carbonate (in solution)--> Sodium Carbonate Decahydrate

Why Iron chloride acidic while sodium carbonate basic explain?

Iron chloride is acidic because some of the water molecules in its hydration shell deprotonate. Sodium carbonate is basic because its the salt of a weak acid. Thus, some carbonate ions take protons from water, creating basic hydroxide ions.

Sodium carbonate into a chemical equation?

Sodium Carbonate is the disodium salt of the carbonate anion. Sodium is a +1 cation while carbonate is a -2 anion. It is a basic salt when dissolved in water. Sodium carbonate doesn't have a equation itself, but when dissolved in water (deionization), it looks like this: Na2CO3(s) <------> 2 Na+(aq) + (CO3)2-(aq) In words: solid sodium carbonate is in equilibrium with two aqueous sodium ions of +1 charge and one aqueous carbonate ion of -2 charge. Carbonate is one carbon, 3 oxygens.
