Well some sad songs might remind someone of sad things that have happened in their life, they might find other sad songs make them feel sad because of the lyrics or the way the music is made. Some people have feelings bottled up inside them that come out when the right sad song unlocks all the sadness that comes pouring out when released.
I can give you a few examples: Radiohead: Creep
used to make me cry when I was a little younger because I had a really rough few years in my teens and 'creep' reminds me of that.

This song reminds me of my favourite place in Sweden because it's used as the theme tune for a 'cop drama' based around a bridge in that area that connects Denmark and Sweden called the Öresund/Øresund. I don't want to go into too much detail about my life but a lot of my future may happen there, when I listen to this song I hear hope for my future, it has the potential to make me cry.

There are not many ways. Just cry. It won't hurt you. It just means your sensitive side is taking over a little. If it makes you SAD, go tell someone what made you sad and they would understand. Also give them a hug. Hugs make everyone feel better. Those type of songs are usually written for a specific reason. Not only to make people sad. they are written so----- well... maybe for your sentimaental feelings to understand other meanings and stuff. NO Worries. They are written evedrywhere and anywhere.
