There could be a few reasons:
Maybe they're joking and didnt realise they hurt you (I had this trouble)
Maybe there just naturally mean people
Or maybe they don't mean to say hurtful things
The way I resolved my problem was by just telling my friend that there were being mean and she said she didnt realise that she was doing it, we're all okay now.

∙ 14y agoBecause they think that being rude and mean makes them powerful. They are afraid that other people are going to try to take advantage of them, or hurt them so they think they can prevent this by acting this way.

∙ 9y agoSome people chose to be rude online, because it allows them to be mean without having to show their faces and deal with the consequences. While in real life if they were that rude, they might get called bad names and lose friends because of their behavior, being mean online allows them to be anonymous. It is really a cowardly action and an example of bad character.
