Sound is mechanical energy, and the energy of the sound is transferred into the medium through which it is travelling. As the energy of sound is carried by the medium, the vacuum of space will not support a sound wave.
If their is air in the jar, you should be able to hear the bell ringing. Air carries the sound waves from the bell to the jar and to outside the jar so that the ringing is heard. Without any gas media in the jar, the sound would not be carried to the outside and the bell would not be heard.
A human hearing a ringing a bell is where the sound waves vibrate the air surround the air and get passed along in a chain. In a vacuum there is not air so this vibration cannot occur
No sound. Beacuse sound need air to travel..
Take an electric bell and hang this bell inside an empty bell-jar fitted with a vacuum pump (as shown in the following figure). Initially, one can hear the sound of the ringing bell. Now, pump out some air from the bell-jar using the vacuum pump. It will be observed that the sound of the ringing bell decreases. If one keeps on pumping the air out of the bell-jar, then at one point, the glass-jar will be devoid of any air. At this moment, no sound can be heard from the ringing bell although one can see that the prong of the bell is still vibrating. When there is no air present inside, we can say that a vacuum is produced. Sound cannot travel through vacuum. This shows that sound needs a material medium for its propagation.
sound needs a medium to travel. material medium is necessary for propogation of sound. in vaccum sound do not travel. that's the reason why we are not able to hear sound in this case. Jordi101
The vacuum pump stops the sound waves from coming out. Because there are no particles to pass on the sound in a vacuum, we see the clock vibrating, but do not hear anything at all.
No. Since there is no air in a vacuum and sound travels only with the presence of air, you can't hear in a vacuum.

The Moon has no atmosphere, only vacuum. There is nothing for the sound waves to travel in.

That sound cannot move through a vaccum.
you cant
No. Since there is no air in a vacuum and sound travels only with the presence of air, you can't hear in a vacuum.
Either it is not getting enough vacuum or the booster is going bad. You can sometime hear a whistle inside under the dash if it is leaking.
first check all fuses related to the AC system. i think there are 3. if you can hear the blower motor from inside the car when the air is on, it is most likely the vacuum line from the intake manifold is off or broken. it is the rearleft most line coming off the manifold if looking from the front of the car. if you cant hear the blower motor, either the switch or blower motor are bad. it is most likely the fuse or vacuum hose though.
The sound of the airplane from the outside is pretty loud BUT when you get inside of an airplane and your flying you cant hear any thing
People hear nothing because it is no longer rung. The Liberty Bell is an actual bell. It was last rung on February 23, 1846. It is cracked and can no longer be rung.
