B'coz all calculations done with CACO3 equivalents needs a standard factor to determine hardness.
use heat to heat the solution and add EDTA slowly to dissolve it.
Buffers are added to systems in order to resist any minor changes in pH. EDTA is an acid, (ethylene diamine tetracetic acid), and so a buffer is used in order to maintain a certain pH even after the EDTA is added.
1.084g
EDTA used analytically is usually the disodium salt Na2H4Y 2H2O (372.24 g/mol), which is .... anyremaining EDTA titrant, Ca standard stock solution, and Zn unknown solution ...
during the complexometric titration using edta it is very necessary to maintain the ph of the solution near about 10 so we use ammonium chloride buffer if we will not use this buffer dring the titration ph of sol. will ho lower side
we know the concentration of standardization solution .eg (oxalic acid , mgso4 much more )but wo donot know the concetration of titration solution eg (kmno4 ,EDTA )

ammonia solution is added during the preparation of EDTA solution to increase the rate of dissolution of its disodium salt.

EDTA is an ion with 4- charge so is soluble in water.
EDTA -Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic acid is a very powerful chelating agent and will thus complex most metals. However, it is not very soluble in water. The disodium salt of EDTA is and thus making a solution of this is much easier. If you have a known strength solution of EDTA disodium salt, it can then be used as a titrating solution for unknown metals salts.
standardization of solution is the process used to determine the concentration of solution
Sodium chloride may be used as standard (for example to prepare sodium solutions with known concentration) because is a stable compound.
We usually heat KSCN Fe solution before titration with EDTA so as to produce crystalline crust forms.
