Yeah, according to the Hooke's law of elasticity, the stress is proportional to the strain within elastic limit that is Stress ∝ Strain or Stress/Strain = constant.

[The constant of proportionality is called as "modulus of elasticity" or "coefficient of elasticity".]

stress is directly proportional to strain up to the proportional limit. Their ratio is young's modulus.

What is the definition of hookes law is science physics?

Within Elastic limit, the strain produced in a body is directly proportional to the stress applied to that body.

What was Roberts hookes law?

Robert Hooke's law states that within elastic limit, the strain produced is directly proportional to the stress applied. Hence Stess/strain = constant This constant is known as Modulus of elasticity.

What is directly and inversely proportional relationship?

Directly proportional relationship is F=ma, F is directly proportional to a. Inversely proportional relationship is v=r/t, v is inversely proportional to t.

Directly proportional. Greater speed - greater distance.

Are force and mass directly proportional or inversely proportional?

Force is directly proportional to mass provided the acceleration is constant.

Is blood a newtonian fluid?

Fluid's obeying newton's law ofviscosityare calledNewtonianfluid. ie,shear stress induced on a liquid is directly proportional to it's velocity gradient.Which means, when the liquid is under stressed it's strain will be uniform.Which also means when stiring a liquid which will not change it's viscosity.Milk is aNewtonianfluid.
