A loose belt that becomes more noticeable at cold temperatures.
Most likely it is a belt on your car. Usually the squeeling is from a loose belt while idling and will also make noises while driving.

You probably have a bad bearing.
You can hear things when you are sleeping. For instance if while you are asleep, someone makes a loud noise, this will wake you up. You must therefore have heard the noise while you were asleep.
Check the brake pads for wear. There is a metal tab attached to the pad so as the friction material wears out the tab contacts the brake rotor and it makes a squealing sound but as braking is applied the pressure on the brake pad causes the noise to stop.
You probably have a "throwout bearing" going bad.
