the trenches can be seen to be weak as the barbed wire could be weak and as the british had thought they could break through from their weak barbed wire it would be the same for the Germans but it wasnt. The German Barbed wire was stronger so it had no affect!

Another weakness is if its to open then the attack can have a wider attack and can harm the men in the war more!

The trench could lack in hospitality. The men have to have good shelter, good meals and also good health. For all this they need a good STRONG trench. Many were extremely weak.

Because it was not very protective, and then you would have to leave the limited protection to do the fighting.

The problem with trench warfare was that neither side could gain any ground. Battle lines in France remained unchanged for years.
