Just visible light too can be used for photo electric phenomenon. But Hallwachs used UV rays as he used zinc plates. That is all. Moreover the energy of the photon has to be more than the work function of the material being used.

What was Einsteins contribution to our understanding of the photoelectric effect?

He wrote a paper that described the photoelectric effect. The paper contained equations used to explain why certain wavelengths of light cause the p-e effect but others do not and the energy changes in the electrons during the p-e effect.

On what factors does photoelectric current depends?

photoelectric current depends on intensity of light used

Why cesium and potassium used in photoelectric effect?

The ionization enthalpy of K and Cs is less than that of Li and therefore these metals easily lose electrons on exposure to light than lithium. That's the reason potassium and cesium are used in photoelectric cells rather than Cs.

What are photoelectric sensors used for?

Photoelectric sensors use light to detect the presence, absence, or distance of an object. They often use the infrared spectrum of light, though visible light is also used.

Can ultraviolet light be used to identify willemite?

Yes. Ultraviolet light can be used to identify willemite. In fact willemite continues to glow even after the ultraviolet light is turned off.

Why does the color of the light source determine whether the photoelectric effect will occur?

it doesn't matter how bright the light is in order to break free the electrons from the substrate but the kind of colour used is very important. This is because electron will start to move when light is up close to the blue end of the spectrum.

Instrument used for changing light to energy?

photo voltaic cells convert light energy to electricalenergy The conversion of sunlight to electricity using photovoltaic (PV) cells, also known as solar cells, is based on the photoelectric effect discovered by Alexander Bequerel in 1839. The photoelectric effect describes the release of positive and negative charge carriers in a solid state when light strikes its surface.

What light is used in black lights?

Ultraviolet light.

Who developed the theory of photons being quantized?

Einstein, and he used the theory to describe the photoelectric effect.

How is ultraviolet used in lights?

Ultraviolet IS light. It comes from the sun. It's why we wear sun screen.
