Temperature measures the speed of random thermal motion on the atomic and molecular level. When sub-microscopic particles are moving faster, the liquid as a whole will be more fluid and less viscous.

What is the effect of pressure on viscosity?

As temperature increases viscosity decreases.

Does an increase in silica increase the viscosity of magma?

Yes. Viscosity is the resistance of a fluid to flowing. A high viscosity means low flowing (I specifically mention this because this is a huge pitfall) When silica content increases, and when temperature decreases, the viscosity of a magma increases along with it.

How does temperature affect viscosity of motor oil?

Yes. If the temperature changes enough, the viscosity of oil will change, too. Oil is designed to resist changes in viscosity with temperature changes, at least to a degree. But if the change (either hotter or colder) is extreme, then the viscocity will most certainly change. And, as you'd expect, as it gets hotter, the viscosity of oil decreases (it get thinner), and as it gets colder, the viscosity of oil increases (it gets thicker).

Does air temperature affect air resistance?

There are two factors that influence air resistance with temperature. Air density decreases with temperature so that the force needed to push the air out of the way is decreased, thereby decreasing resistance. Conversely, air viscosity increases with temperature (unlike oil for example where viscosity decreases with temperature) so that the drag increases. Under normal conditions, the density change of air has the greatest effect and air resistance decreases at higher temperatures.

What happens to the temperature as the height of the atmosphere increase?

It become colder

Viscosity increase as temperature increase?

Usually the increase in temperature decreases the viscosity of a liquid due to weakness of intermolecular attractions but some mixtures show an increase in viscosity with the rise of temperature as egg (proteins).

For most liquids viscosity decreases as temperature increases.

What happens to viscosity of a liquid when you heat it up?

VISCOSITY generally decreases with increase in temperature.(a factor responsible for cleaning action of soap) .There might be exceptions.

What happens when the temperature of lava increases?

Its viscosity decreases, which allows it to flow easier.

What is the effect on increase of temperature on viscosity of liquid?

In most cases an increase in temperature will lower the viscosity of a material, but there are exceptions, like sulfur, which form polymers.

How the coefficient of viscosity of a liquid changes with temperature?

The coefficient of viscosity of liquids decreases with an increases in temperature.

When temperature decreases viscosity increases?

Yes.

Why does viscosity vary with respect to temperature?

the increase in temperature increases the K.E of the molecules and distances among molecules therefore the force of friction decreases as the result of which molecules move faster and viscosity becomes decreased....
