Contact the local or state health department where the restaurant was located. My husband got ill from a Las Vegas restaurant years ago. The health department will make you list everything you've eaten in the past 36 hours just to rule out everything, but they are pretty thorough. The place we suspected he got the poisoning from was definitely the culprit, having several violations of the health department. Both times that I've had food poisoning, symptoms started within 6 hours of eating contaminated food.
