Bartholomeu Dias was famous for being the first European to lead a voyage around the Cape of Good Hope. His exploration was also the first of the age of exploration. This lead to a new route to India. There were two explorers who lead explorations passed the Cape of Good Hope after that, in the Age of Exploration.
