lucky lindy He had a second nickname, "The Lone Eagle"
Charles Augustus Lindbergh (February 4, 1902 - August 26, 1974) was nicknamed "Lucky Lindy" and "The Lone Eagle"). He was the first person to fly solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927.
The nickname Lone Eagle derived from his solo transatlantic flight. the not so honorary (Von Lindemann) may have been his real name- and alluded to his involvement with the German Bund. I think Von Lindemann has a neat, Teutonic ring!
Charles Lindbergh was an American pilot, author, inventor, explorer, and social activist. He is most well known for being the first to fly nonstop AND solo across the Atlantic Ocean from New York to Paris (he was not the first to fly across the Atlantic Ocean). A few of his nicknames were Slim, Lucky Lindy, and Lone Eagle. Much more information can be found by visiting the links below.
