This had many factors, including that Germany take all the guilt of WWI, and that they were limited to only 100,000 troops in their army. Their navy was only allowed to have shipments of 10,000 tons. They were banned from having any aircraft, heavy artillery, submarines, tanks and gad as well. This was all created in the hope of keeping Germany at a managable level. Unfortunately, the treaty only angered Germany and was indirectly a major cause for WWII
