Giles Corey was married to Martha Corey but in what year
I believe that Giles Corey in Salem Massachusetts was the only person tortured to death.
Giles Corey along with his wife, Martha Corey were accused of practicing witch craft. They were both killed, Giles in 1692.
Giles corey was martha corey husband and john procters friend. Giles corey was introduced into the story because he was an actual uncommitted victom in the salem witch trils.
He was unusual because unlike majority of the deaths in Salem during the witch trials, he was tortured and pressed to death. The others were either hung or died in prison.
He died by being tortured by Danforth and the Court. They tortured him by laying stones on top of him until the pressure gave way and kill him. His last works were "more weight", in other words, "I'm not telling you anything!"
