Mesopotamia is Greek for "[land] between rivers." Mesopotamia is the land area found in the Tigris-Euphrates river system. It is generally found in Iraq and parts of Syria.
Because Mesopataima was between the two rivers the Euphrates river and Tigris river. Mesopatamia was also called the fertile crecsent becasue Mesopatiamia is in the shape of a crescent and is fertile.
