because its orbit was highly eccentric and used to intercede the orbit of Neptune. that is why Pluto is no more a part of our solar system as it collided with Neptune and exploded.

Although Pluto is colder than Neptune (our coldest planet), Eris is both larger and colder than Pluto. Even when Pluto is closer to the sun, it still doesn't get warmer than Neptune, as Neptune possesses a small amount of internally generated heat.

Is Pluto sometimes closer to the Sun than Neptune?

Yes, Pluto is closer to the Sun than Neptune for a ~20 year period every 228 years. The last time it was closer to the Sun than Neptune was 1979. This happens because Pluto has an eccentric orbit that is also highly inclined, Pluto's size\mass is not directly involved in this process in any way.
