Tate died in the most horrible way possible. Begging for the life of her unborn child, she was stabbed repeatedly in the upper body. Cause of death, exsanguation (loss of blood) means that Tate didn't die immediately. It took several minuntes for her to bleed out, causing a severe drop in blood pressure, and finally loosing conciousness and death. Those few minuntes it took for her to bleed to death must have been excutiatingly painful and frightening beyond endurance.

Not exactly. Remember where the murders took place. August in Los Angeles can be pretty hot. On the night of her death LA was having some hot weather. The windows were open and the killers had only to cut the screens and they were in. And because Tate was very pregnant she was wearing just a bra and panties, as she was most likely hot and uncomfortable.

Nobody. Sharon Tate wasn't shot, she was stabbed numerous times by Susan Atkins, who then tasted Tate's blood like a demented vampire. Jay Sebring was shot and stabbed, Voytek Frykowski was shot, stabbed and blugeoned, Steven Parent was shot and Abigail Folger was stabbed.

Initially, it was thought that the Tate murders were the result of some sort of drug deal gone wrong, and later, part of Charles Manson's plan for a race war, hence the words Helter Skelter. But as revealed by Maury Terry in his New York Times bestselling book "The Ultimate Evil" both of these may be at least partially true. Terry states that the murders were not as random as originally thought. This was a story of drugs, a satanic cult group known as The Process, and Manson's delusions. Manson was involved with members of The Process as were people at the Tate house. Abigail Folger and her boyfriend Wjocek Frykowski knew Manson dating back to 1967 San Franscico during the 'summer of love'. Manson follower Susan Atkins was a groupee of Anton LeVey, founder of the Church of Satan, in San Franscico, during this same time period. When the 'summer of love' became the 'autum of discontent' many of the principle players went south to Los Angeles, setting into motion what would become the Tate-LaBianca, Hinman, Shea murders.*

*This is not a complete list of victims.
