Why did king clovis converted to Christianity?

It is thought that Catholicism served to distinguish him from other Germanic kings who were Arian Christians and that it helped him to gain support from the Catholic Gallo-Roman aristocracy after he defeated a Gallo-Roman ruler to expand into Roman Gaul further.
