i think Charles the 1st was charged with treason because he was very prejudiced against Parliament and saying that he had the divine right of kings that means he has his power straight from god!!! what a stupid idea!!!!

In parliaments eyes Charles did commit treason as he didn't agree with them over a settlement with the Army or with Parliament. He refused to listen to parliament and they would not give the king money until it grievances were redressed. Also the kind never listened to his subjects. As a protestant king he married which upset his subjects a lot. Over the King deserved for his head to be chopped off because he committed treason in the realm of England.
