The capital of colonial New Mexico was Santa Fe. It was founded by Spanish colonists in 1610 and has been the capital of New Mexico ever since.
Guadalajara is one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico, one of the oldest colonial towns in the Americas, and the second most important cultural and economic center, after Mexico City.
