Why was the US involved in World War 2?

There were many causes of United States entry into World War II. Japan posed an economic threat to the United States dominant imperial power in Asia. Japan entered into a militaristic expansion into China and other Asian areas in order to obtain the necessary raw materials for her industry. Hitler in Germany and Mussolini in Italy posed a threat to all democratic nations. As Hitler and Italy rolled over Europe, the United States would be caught in the middle of imperialistic, militaristic, dictatorial nations on the east and west of our nation. A Europe dominated by Germany would effect the economic trade of the United States, our national security, our influence in Europe, and the peaceful interaction between the US and Europe. The immediate cause of the entry into World War II was the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. MrV
