Funny, I'm reading it right now. The ending's weird.
Ok, I don't go to a public school, and we're reading it. I was reading that euthanasia and suicide WERE the reasons it was banned. The whole point of the book was to stress how bad those things were. And second off, our school has read books twice as bad. I don't think this book should be banned at all. It should be encouraged to read in schools.
The book "The Giver" has been banned or challenged in some school districts due to themes of sexuality, drugs, and violence, as well as some educators feeling that the story's dystopian elements and questioning of authority are not appropriate for younger readers. It has also been challenged for its depiction of family dynamics and the way it addresses themes of conformity and individuality.
Euthanasia can only be justified when it is assisted suicide. if the decision is made because of cost then it is execution.
You cant! euthanasia is a method of assisted suicide that is chosen for terminally ill patients the only way to stop euthanasia is not to do it!!
Euthanasia
mercy-killing physician assisted suicide
Active euthanasia should not be legalized anywhere, however physician assisted suicide should be
Suicide means to kill oneself. Euthanasia is committed by another person.
If you are talking about suicide among the terminally ill, that is of course a frightful option . obviously the suicide wants to die and is taking his or her own life .
Laws against euthanasia and assisted suicide are in place to prevent abuse and to protect people from unscrupulous doctors and others. They are not, and never have been, intended to make anyone suffer
Euthanasia or assisted suicide can be good if the person who has asked is in a lot of pain. If it can help stop the pain then it is good. If the is a treatment for what is causing the pain then euthanasia is bad.
Yes. It doesn't matter how you end your life, if you end it yourself it's suicide.
Euthanasia is against the law in the UK and, depending on the circumstances, will either be treated as the criminal offence of 'murder' or of 'manslaughter'. Assisted suicide is also a criminal offence under the Suicide Act.
this is usually a health/ disease related medical death. Euthanasia is suicide that is performed as a medical procedure, usually because the patient has a terminal disease and the only other choice is a long, drawn out, painful death. this is because otherwise the patient will die, no matter what, and the doctor gets it over with.
