I presume you are referring to the morality play. Simply, as it was a clear demonstration of the continued fight between good and evil. Morality plays were intended for the illiterate who couldn't read The Bible. Everyman demonstrates the basic principles of the bible. That if you lead a good life you will receive salvation. If you were sinful, damnation would be your reward. Going beyond the vernacular, its universal theme is why it has endured for so long. Even today we are still questioning the very notion of death. The personification of these ideas in the play it what makes it both entertaining and memorable.
