By our standards, our ancestor's lives were not very pleasant....however...by their standards they enjoyed the life they lead.

They did not know that air could be conditioned to be cool instead of hot, for instance. Thousands of other things they did not know, so they did not miss them or feel unlucky not to have them.

Each generation loves life and loves it the way it is. They appreciate what they do have, and do not think it should be otherwise...most of them.

The few forward thinkers work on machines and gadgets that make life easier, but they are often misunderstood by their contemporaries...and some are even killed for their ideas.

My ancestor enjoyed a pleasant way of life because they lived in a peaceful and prosperous community, had strong family support, and had access to resources that fulfilled their basic needs. They might have also possessed skills and knowledge that allowed them to thrive in their environment.
