BG check-usually a felony
upon application to purchase a firearm a NCIC check is conducted, at which time the out of state conviction will show and your firearm application denied
Wisconsin does not require a permit to purchase or to own a firearm. It does require a permit to carry a firearm concealed on your person. When you apply, the permit will be granted or denied within 21 days by State law.
When registering a firearm in California you will need to submit a Firearm Ownership Report Application. The Department of Justice Bureau of Firearms staff can access your circumstances and determine if your application should be accepted, rejected, or denied.
Unable to offer any help - you must be more specific. WHY are you being "delayed?' WHO is delaying you? WHAT is the reason they give you? etc.
I guess so. If you fail the background check, they cannot return it to you and they cannot let anyone redeem a firearm that was pawned by someone else.
In the US, when redeeming a pawned firearm, you will go through the same process as buying the firearm from a dealer (this is Federal Law). The pawnshop operator is required to conduct a background check with the law enfrocement agency that does this. The result may be approved, denied, or delayed. Delayed means just that- no approval yet. It may be due to a computer problem, or that the agency needs to check further. This sometimes happens if you have a name similar to someone that is prohibited from owning a firearm. Usually the delay will be resolved within 3 days- but the pawnshop operator cannot return the firearm until they have received an approval, or the time limit for the background check has been reached. The pawnshop owner will not know why a check was delayed, or denied- only the result.
A shotgun is a firearm. A revolver is a firearm. A pistol is a firearm. A rifle is a firearm. If you want even more specific -- A Remington 1187 is a firearm (shotgun). A Smith and Wesson 686 is a firearm (revolver). A Sig Sauer P226 is a firearm (pistol). A Colt 6920 is a firearm (rifle).
Good question and I admire your determination. You can appeal if you fail NCIC BG (process below) you can also purchase a rifle or shotgun in many states and get around the process altogether. Good luck.
No, Sword is not a firearm.
