his theory was rejected due to the religious perspective on life....Althought it was widely accepted by the scientific community, Catholocism disagreed (e.g- Wilberforce Huxley debate), the didactism of religion is that God created the world and everyting in it... not some theory of natural selection.

Lamarck's theory is basically proposing that an organism obtained the traits they have due to the activities performed by their parents.

Therefore, Lamarck has practically saying that if you were to remove the tails of two rats, and have them reproduce a baby, the baby would have no tail.

Scientific studies have proved this wrong and that's why his theory is no longer accepted.
