Children were evacuated in the war because they people thought they would be safer evacuated than in their city home. And in advance the people also thought that if they was another war then there would be plenty of men to fight. Think of it as ' Preserving children for the future '

Children were evacuated into the countryside during the war and lived with generous families willing to take them in. this happened as it appeared adults had already had a life so stayed in the towns - more likely targets or bombs from the germans. Therefore, they were evacuate to help save their lives and hopefully be reunited with their parents at a later date, but many weren't.

The British children were given the choice (which their parents made) to be evacuated to rural areas, coastal areas and Scottish mountain areas in order to be protected from the blitz bombing of the Nazi Germans. They were sent to the special locations by railroad and accompanied by teachers, volunteers and mothers of babies/toddlers.
