Most game reserves were built to protect animals from poaching, but sometimes they can't prevent it as poachers often sneak in. Hunters with licenses can often come in and shoot certain types of animals. But they unlike poachers only kill species that are not endangered. Another reason game reserves were created was to show tourists just how great the country's (Africa for example) native animals are.
