They lost large amounts of land...because the Indians lived in the Midwest near the Ohio river valley which after the American Revolution, we Americans took over that land so therefore, the Native Americans had to adapt to their new enviroment.One of the reasons the war broke out in the first place was because the colonists wanted to expand their territory westward. This was American Indian territory, and the British were allied to American Indian tribes. Not wanting to anger the Indian tribes into cancelling their alliance with the British, the redcoats refused to allow the colonists to steal the land from the American Indians. This is why so many American Indians fought on the British side when war broke out; they saw the British as a people who were defending their land from the colonists.They ended up with an even worse deal than previously.
