Do Pekingese shed I want to get a dog but the people I am living with need a hypoallergenic one. So my question is once again do Pekingese shed?

I have a pekingese and my boyfriend is allergic to dogs but he is not allergic to my dog. The are very clean dogs and the shedding is very minimal. If you need to reduce shedding even further you should get it groomed at least once a month. Also, if your dog happens to shed irregularly then you can use vitiman supplements and mix them in with their food. I've heard it works wonders with other dogs that shed a lot, and I'm sure the Pekingese is no different.

What type of dog was also called a 'sleeve dog' because it used to be carried by royalty in the sleeves of their coats?

The Pekingese dog was a breed of toy dog developed in ancient China, where it was held sacred and was kept as a palace dog by members of the imperial family. It was introduced to the West by English forces that looted the Imperial Palace at Peking (Beijing) in 1860. The Pekingese has been known, both in the East and in the West, as the "sleeve dog" or "lion dog" -presumably because of its appearance, although it is also acclaimed as having lionlike independence and courage.

How much does a pekingese dog weigh?

Hope this helps: Pekingese weigh from 7 to 14 lb (3.2 to 6.4 kg) and stand about 6--9 inches (15--23 cm) at the withers, however they can sometimes be smaller. These smaller Pekingese are commonly referred to as "Sleeve" Pekingese or just "Sleeves". The name is taken from ancient times, when emperors would carry the smallest of the breed in their sleeves. A Pekingese over 14 pounds is disqualified in the show ring. I know there is more than you asked here but I just added it anyway for extra detail if you ever wondered
