These pyramids meant a lot to the Egyptians. The pyramids were made for either the king or queens tomb. They wanted them so big and huge to show how great, strong, and powerful they were. The Egyptians did so much for the kings and queens because they believed that in their afterlife they will become one of the great gods or goddesses. That's why in their tomb there is so much gold and riches. The shape of the pyramid shows that it comes to a point at the top which is where the pharaohs sit. The slaves are at the bottom. There is one king/queen that's why there isn't much room on top as bottom. There are more slaves so that's why they are on the bottom and there's more room. Everyone in between are either more or less people. That's what the pyramids mean to the Egyptians.

It really only served a function to the pharaoh building the pyramid, as it was where his tomb and his 'stairway to heaven'. His body and sometimes the bodies of his wives were laid to rest there. Other than that and perhaps the symbology of power associated with the ruling class of Egypt, it really had no other purpose in Ancient Egyptian daily life.

Pyramids were used as tombs for pharaohs who died. They held many of the pharaohs belongings and other treasures inside the pyramid. Sometimes when the pharaohs's wife wives died (yes they could have more than one) they were buried in smaller pyramids near his own. Fact: To make a mummy, one of the steps is: pull out the brain from the nose with a long hook.
