Free labor. Think about it in today's terms. You own a restaurant. You have a hard worker. You don't have to pay him anything. You own him.
I don't think they "desired" African slaves. At first many explorers brought back people from places they had visited on their voyages, but most of them died before the explorers could get the new slaves back to europe. So i don't think the African slaves were really targeted, it was just from where the explorers sailed to.
why are there so many slaves?
Slaves to trade to the New World to help increase the production of desired goods in Europe, the Old world.
Because they thought the men would be more useful when it came to physical labor than women.
Slaves wanted to leave because they were seeking freedom from the oppression, exploitation, and inhumane conditions under which they were forced to work. They desired to have control over their own lives and make choices for themselves.
Many of the Africans taken to the Americas as slaves were Muslims, so Muslims can be (or at least were) slaves.
They were slaves....so bad.
They just desired to have the same rights and freedoms as general white Americans.
Slaves were rarely killed by their owners because they were so expensive and valuable.
So the slaves wouldn't be able to outsmart them.
Slaves.!.!. i wish so...
I believe that you are asking about the underground railroad, a route for the escape of slaves to the north.
