There were so many people who became sick from radioactive sickness that many had to wait in turn for medical treatment. Doctors and nurses never had training for this sickness. All that made it worse for the sick. People in the open, exposed to flash burns from the immediate explosion, became known as "the procession of ghosts." to prevent their red, exposed flesh from sticking; people thrust their arms in front of them like ghosts. Their skin, like the thin skin of a peeled potato, hung from the fingernails, where it was still attached. Many died as a result but the medical personnel tried everything to help.
A Jesuit priest, a widowed seamstress, two doctors, a minister, and a young woman who worked in a factory.
Nearly all of the survivors have run up against ignorance even among doctors about the effects of radiation. It was a new illness and so the effects of radiation poisoning kept killing days after the blast occurred.
im not sure exactly why. . . but maybe because the doctors wanted to help those who have a better chance of living if treated soon, rather than wasting time on helping those who have very little chance in living at all.
Many of the doctors spent time experimenting on the prisoners rather than helping them.
from my point of veiw they did because doctors were invented in a.d time periods

In Nagasaki immediate deaths range from 40,000 to 75,000. Total deaths by the end of 1945 may have reached 80,000. In Hiroshima 70,000--80,000 people, or about 30% of the population of Hiroshima were killed by the blast and resultant firestorm, and another 70,000 injured. Over 90% of the doctors and 93% of the nurses in Hiroshima were killed or injured. Most had been in the downtown area which received the greatest damage.
There is not an exact number of the amount of doctors in Cuba. However, there is an estimate of 68,600.
Of more than 200 doctors in Hiroshima before the attack, over 90 percent were casualties and only about 30 physicians were able to perform their normal duties a month after the raid. Out of 1,780 nurses, 1,654 were killed or injured. Through some stocks of supplies had been dispersed, many were destroyed .Only three out of 45 civilian hospitals could be used, and two large Army hospitals were rendered unusable. Exact casualty figures for medical personnel are unknown, but the city seems to have fared better than Hiroshima: 120 doctors were at work on 1 November.
