D-Day was most definitely NOT fun. It was a huge military operation in unknown conditions, Many men died and were horribly wounded. Many American tank crews drowned in their tanks as the people driving landing craft launched them too far out in rough seas. Many paratroops landed in swamp and many others came under terrific gunfire on unprotected beaches. - Not fun.
