German immigrants began to migrate to the New World in 1717, but the eruption of Immigration did not start until later in the 18th century, around the year 1756.
There was terrible overpopulation in Germany because emigration was illegal. The overpopulation wrecked the economy; the Germans were willing to work for for less than appropriate standards.
However, those who were paid little for the labor were lucky. Most of the Germanic population were serfs, those who belonged to a lord, much like slaves. The lords crammed their serfs into little buildings under terrible conditions.
What made the situation even worse was that the rest of Europe had ideas of Mercantilism, the idea that whoever had the most money was the most powerful and influential. All the tactics to achieve higher financial standards failed and only caused terrible diseases, which lead German's economy into a spiraling downfall.
If the economy and the terrible conditions were not good enough reasons to emigrate, there was a religious aspect as well. Most of the Immigrants who came to America were Catholic and the spread of Protestant beliefs were rampant.
With nowhere else to run, the German emigrants came to the New World, to the English Colonies, where they thought they would find a safe-haven from all the turmoil that was happening in Europe.
They were wrong.
Because he told most of them what most of them wanted to hear. For obvious reasons people want to know that they are better off by being governed by someone who has a plan for their betterment, the fact that the German masses would have their living standards increased by public works including rearmament & dispossessing the Jews & occupying other peoples territory, was, in many peoples view, a good thing. The Czechs & Poles & many others soon found out otherwise, from their point of view....
They didn't really have a choice at first. The Nazis came to power by making alliances with other right-wing parties and taking advantage of a national emergency to affect the elections. Once they got just enough seats in the parliament, they amended the constitution to make Adolf Hitler the sole ruler of Germany. It happened so quickly (it took about 2.5 months) that nobody really realized what was happening until it was done.
Hitler quickly passed laws to ban political opposition, protests, labor unions, and even all political parties except the Nazi Party. The first concentration camps were built to imprison dissenting politicians, especially leftists like the Communists and Socialists. He spent almost a year and a half refashioning the government to fit his ideology; by August 1934, he was the total, unquestioned dictator of Germany.
The other mitigating factor is that the government had been fairly unsuccessful prior to Hitler's Machtergreifung("seizure of power"). The 1920s were chaotic, and economic problems- especially after the Great Depression started in 1929- made life hard for the German people. Hitler forced into place a government that would always do exactly what he wanted, and it was able to deal with the Depression (mostly by greatly expanding the military, security, and police agencies).
So Hitler may have seemed like a heartless bastard to some Germans, but they figured "hey, at least he's fixing the economy." He was seen as restoring pride and patriotism in Germany, after a decade and a half of defeat and humiliation after World War I. Germany had a long history of antisemitism, so the Nazi antagonism towards Jews wasn't anything totally new thing to Germans- although the Nazis did rapidly go overboard with it. By that point, however, it was too late to stop them, and the few organized attempts to oppose Nazism after 1934, such as those made by the Catholic Church, or the White Rose group, were ruthlessly crushed.
Because many people thought they would cause overcrowding in cites. Some people created secret societies known as the know nothing party. they are called that because when they were asked about it they answered I know nothing about it.
It is natural for people of similar language and culture to want to live together, since they already have shared community values that they understand. In a community where there are people of different cultures living in proximity there is more of a learning process.
they came because they didnt want any buisness in the military/war. and America is
i like pop
The Germans accepted in America because America won lots of wars and beateed German before and America gave some sayings.
The life of Ethel Drummond was like that of other black people in Montgomery, they were discriminated against when it came to the use the social amenities. This segregation caused the Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955.
American troops came and the Germans couldn't keep up
No. Most came from a German nationality. But there were some Germans who resisted against the Nazi regime. Not all Germans supported Hitler and the Nazis (even half of the German soldiers fighting in the war). Not all Nazis were Germans. Some could've been other European nationalities.
Heinie or Boche are WWI derogatory terms for the Germans. Kraut may also have been used then, but really only came into general use in WWII.
first Afghanistan used to be peaceful and lovely then suddenly Russians came and fought against Afghanistan for ten years and Afghanistan fought back so this time afghanistam succeeded then talibans came the Americans cames now America is still there in Afghanistan

100,000 Germans came to America.
they came in 1700
Germans migrated to America for various reasons, including economic opportunities, religious freedom, and political instability in Germany. Many German immigrants were drawn to the promise of land ownership and employment in the growing industries of the United States during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Irish came to American because when they didnt have any food (Famine) They were in serach of land and food. There were so many of them, they were looked down upon.

Immigrants who had come from North Western areas of Europe. Germans and Scandinavians from Western Europe who came before the 1880's. They discriminated against the "new immigration" and considered themselves "natives." The mixing of the other Europeans would tarnish their true Anglo-Saxon heritage
Hitler strongly believed in antisemitism, strong hate of the Jews, and he believed that the only good people were pure blooded Germans. he believed pure blooded Germans deserved the jobs in Germany although during the time before world war I, most Jews held the good jobs, like doctors and lawyers. he blamed all the Jews for the terrible depression that was taking place and for taking away jobs that rightfully belonged to the Germans. Hitler turned all Germans against Jews, resulting in their persecutions.
Anything and Anyone is often discriminated against; because they're new and different. 1. Automobiles and their owners were discriminated against by horse and buggy owners in the late 1890s and early 1900s. 2. Airplanes and pilots were discriminated against by people that didn't like their noise, safety problems, and airfields replacing good farming land. 3. Indians discriminated against European settlers for moving in on them, and of course the Europeans discriminated against them when ever they came into town. 4. The Irish were heavily discriminated against in the 1840s upward; that's why many "Irish Cops" became the traditional cop...that's one of the only jobs the Irish could get. That and the US Army. 5. Europeans were discriminated against during the big migrations into Ellis Island in the 1890s and early 1900s; especially the Poles and the Italians. Which gave rise to the Mafia in America, they banded together to protect themselves. 6. In the 1970s, the former South Vietnamese began experiencing discriminations. 7. In the 1990s, the current Russian immigrants are experiencing it.
