Also, people thought that less Jews were killed off, but this wasn't true. Many Jews who died weren't recorded, just hastily dumped into pits.

i guess Jews are just popular scapegoats for history. Hitler blamed them for Germany's poverty after WW1. And then it's said Jews killed Jesus.

They were thought to carry the sickness. Back then, everyone was Catholic, so Jews were already blamed for most other things. When the black death hit, they thought that it rode on cats (which is ironic because it was actually carried on rats) and Jews. So the Jews were burned.
