While doing research on a project for the 1920's, I read somewhere that it was because of the flapping movement of their arms while doing the popular 1920's dance, the charleston.
hope this helped :)
flappers flappers
Flappers They were called flappers.
They were called flappers
there was theese things called flappers
if your asking about the trend that women followed they would be called flappers
i think maybe flappers
the 1920s were called the age of fords because the assembly line had just been invented and cars were beginning to be mass produced for the first time in American history. as for flappers i have no idea.
Flappers were a form of entertainment. Flappers caused conflicts because they were women who did things that were not "women-like" they were very independent.
Flappers had bobbed hair cuts and wore shorter skirts with a lower hem line which made it easier to dance to the new styles of music they had in the 20s such as jazz. Flappers smoked, drank, cursed, voted and went to petting parties. They called it the new women. They wore lots of makeup and highly educated people called them the lowest degree of intelligence.
Flappers needed to turn into flappers because they needed to show the world that men and women are equal in every way. if guys can go out in public and smoke and wear whatever they wanted then so can the women
Yes, flappers originated after the First World War.
Pioneering women were more serious than flappers
