England wanted money from the colonies, so they decided to tax them on tea.

however, the colonial people were poor enough already and were very angry. many of them dumped tea by the shipload and boycotted. because less tea was needed, tea ships stopped.

They were mad because there was a tax on tea and they weren't getting the money they needed to pay for the French and Indian War
